According to a 2006 evaluation, Trinity is now the academically strongest Gender and Women’s Studies Centre in Ireland’. The Centre is a member of the School of Histories and Humanities, thus offering a unique opportunity to students to study gender in history, history of art, classics and literature, as well as gender in contemporary societies.
The interdisciplinary nature of the programme allows students to choose from a range of options. Students can choose to build on the strengths of their undergraduate degree, or to venture into a wholly new area of study. Being in a small, but vibrant capital city allows excellent interaction with groups working on gender and feminist issues, and students are regularly invited to symposia and seminars by government organizations and NGOs, thus increasing their knowledge of how gender issues are constructed and debated outside the academy. The world-class nature of Trinity’s library is also an incentive to research. The wide ranging activities of Trinity’s research community ensures that Trinity is host to international speakers throughout the academic year.
Tuition Costs: €11,185
